I finally finished the "Fauxstess" hat I had started for my little sis last summer/fall. I really put off the I-cord and sewing it on. Niki likes it though, even if she wears it over her pony tail and has a weird conehead bump. The pattern is here Fauxstess, To the Extreme and mine looks just the same, except I made only 3 large loops in the icing rather than a lot of small ones.
I tackled two rows on the baby blanket for my nephew (he is now 2 yrs old....) yesterday.
I'm also 3/4 or more done with the parts and pieces for this guy Hound pillow toy and will just have seaming and assembly to do very soon. This was originally going to be a present for my ex, but, I had barely gotten the head started when we broke up. I think I will keep him when I'm done, to remind me that not all men are dogs, even if it feels like it sometimes.
I tore out the tomatoes that refused to fruit and started to shrivel up, and planted turnip and curly leaf lettuce a week ago. The sprouts are coming up, so I need to look up how many I can grow per square foot.

I have been told....
...That my blog needs pictures. LOL. Well, I will have to work on that bit. In the meantime, I can still type pretty well.
I sewed up that last sock, yay! I think I will stick to knitting socks, however, unless I need something really bulky. The crochet is pretty but I stand on my feet all day and I can only imagine what that stitch definition would do to the ends of my toes.
Mom helped me re-purpose something! She is NOT a super green movement type person. She'll recycle, sure, as long as she doesn't have to go *too* far out of her way. OK so that does not make her a bad person, just pretty much average. I've gotten her to start saving coffee grounds and other organics from the kitchen for a compost pile in the backyard, and we have small gardens planted in pots and buckets. Baby steps, right?
Anyway...the other day our Crock-Pot (TM) broke. The ceramic basin part has a crack ALL the way across the bottom. Well crap. What do you do? I was going to throw it out. Nope! Mom said, "Hey why don't you make it a planter. You wanted to do an herb garden, right?" Genius!!!! Four little herbs I'm waiting to sprout!
Edit: Here is a pic! The little sprouts are there for thyme and basil!
